Vance County is advantageously located within an hour’s drive of the world–renowned Research Triangle Park, the Raleigh-Durham area and the Raleigh Durham International Airport. The region is also noted for the three major research universities that are in close proximity to Vance County. The county is approximately half-way between Charlotte, NC and Washington, DC on the I-85/I-95 corridor.

Raleigh Durham International Airport (RDU)
Henderson is less than 1 hour from the Raleigh Durham International Airport. It is served by American Airlines, Delta, Continental, U S Airways, United, Southwest, Jet Blue, AirTran, Air Canada, American Eagle, Delta Connection, Continental Express, US Airways Express, United Express, Air Canada Express and Vision Airlines.
Henderson-Oxford Airport (HNZ)
The municipalities of Henderson and Oxford jointly own and operate a local general aviation facility. The airport has a 5,000 foot runway that is lighted, paved and has an instrumentation landing system. Maintenance, tie down and storage are available.
Richmond International Airport (RIC)
Just two-hour’s drive time from Henderson is the Richmond (VA) International Airport which serves a fewer number of similar airlines as does RDU
RAIL:
CSX serves the area on a daily schedule. Switching service is available daily and piggyback service is available in Rocky Mount, NC
PORTS:
Henderson is approximately 3 to 3 ½ hours driving time to the N.C. ports of Wilmington and Morehead City as well as the Virginia port of Norfolk.
